Battersea New Mansion Square provides one to four-bedroom homes for London affordable rent and shared ownership on behalf of housing association Peabody. Conceived as a complete framework for living, the development also accommodates an NHS health centre, retail spaces and over 1,115m² of incubator workspace.
The architecture reinterprets the classic London mansion block typology to give a 90% yield of dual aspect homes, each with private balconies or terraces.
Just over half the site is formed of publicly accessible open space in a range of landscaped settings. At the heart of the site, the 930m² Garden Square is composed of a series of flexible, linked spaces that offer a choice of backdrops for social activities, leisure, reflection and more. Derived from Battersea’s iconic Prince of Wales Drive, the elegant dark red brick and white precast detailing of Phase 4a complements the luxury of the private developments that surround it.The project, being delivered by Ardmore, is well advanced on site with first new residents moving in imminently.
