York Place is a hybrid building that delivers significant cultural and residential amenity alongside a public realm transformation. The development provides a new headquarters for the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD), as well as 299 mixed-tenure homes as part of the wider area regeneration.
The RAD complex, including a student library and public cafe, sits at ground level with three residential buildings rising from a landscaped single-storey podium above. At 24-storeys, Coda is the striking centrepiece at the heart of York Place. Delivered in partnership with property developer Avanton, Coda provides 130 homes for private sale.
Two mansion blocks flank Coda, together providing 169 PRS and discounted PRS homes for affordable housing provider, A2 Dominion. A 14-metre set-back from York Road allows for a new public promenade. The landscaped promenade provides a gathering space for visitors and an entrance to the ground floor activities, while revitalising a tired stretch of York Road.
