Victor Street is a purpose-built student residence regenerating a long-vacant site at the heart of Shirley District Centre.
A new perimeter buildings repairs the fragmented townscape and re-establishes the street edges of Victor Street and Crown Street. Carefully considered heights and chamfered corners mediate between neighbouring homes and schools and the larger-scale development to the south and west.
Active ground-floor uses, new landscaping, widened footways and a pedestrian route through the site bring activity and greater permeability to the neighbourhood, transforming a vacant plot into a more connected piece of the town centre.
