Wood Wharf is a mixed-use development combining 100% affordable housing with a primary school, medical centre an integrated leisure centre and retail within Canary Wharf’s new waterside neighbourhood.
Two 10- and 11-storey residential buildings rise above a white precast concrete plinth that brings together the community uses at ground level. The plinth opens between the buildings to create a landscaped route marking the eastern gateway to Wood Wharf.
The leisure centre extends over three levels, with a two-storey sports hall located beneath the residential buildings and primary school. Serving both the school and wider community, it provides dedicated cricket facilities alongside a range of indoor sports. The integration of homes, education, healthcare and leisure within a single development creates a distinctive piece of social infrastructure at the heart of Wood Wharf.
