Perceval House is currently used by Ealing Council as its headquarters and customer service centre, set within a sea of carpark. As the building is expensive to run and the campus as a whole is an inefficient use of land, there is an opportunity to not only build a more resource-efficient council building, but to create a new mixed-use civic centre for Ealing.
Alongside the creation of new council offices, public library and customer service hub, the redevelopment also provides 477 multi-tenured homes above an active ground floor dedicated to a range of commercial uses. These include shops, cafés, eateries and gyms, as well as flexible workspace and spaces for the town’s artisans and makers; from bakers, coffee roasters, to jewellers and furniture makers. The development marks the transition between the town centre and Uxbridge Road/ Crossrail Corridor, as well as redefining the public spaces and routes in and around the site to help it better connect to the surrounding heritage assets and Conservation Area settings.
